In Dr. DeLeo's room, we learned about human vision, optical illusions, and how cameras work. After showing us some really cool optical illusions, he told us how lenses bend light to make images, either in the eye or in a camera. Dr. DeLeo and a graduate student from Lehigh University, Ms. Richter, opened up old-style 35mm film cameras to demonstrate how cameras control light. |

We saw how the lens opening could be made bigger and smaller (aperture; shown just to the right) and how the amount of time the shutter remained open could be changed (shutter speed; far right). We saw how changing these made the picture too bright, too dark, or just right. |

Dr. DeLeo gave us 3d glasses so we could view 3d pictures that he projected on the screen. He even showed us some 3d pictures that he made, like those on the left. Then he took pictures of our class and said he would make 3d pictures for us. |

Dr. DeLeo told us about free software that you can use to make 3d photos. Dr. DeLeo uses free software he got from the website...
http://www.callipygian.com/3D/
... but this site no longer seems to be active (at least not in April 2012). Another one is below...

Below are 3d Photos taken of our classes. Use red-cyan glasses to see them in 3d. You can also copy them to your computer so you can print them. Simply right click on the photo, and then click on "save image as..." |
